APA threatens court action against OYSIEC, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi and APC

The African Peoples Alliance (APA) has threatened court action against the Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) if they go ahead and swear in the defeated APC candidate, Mr. Babatunde Ademola Somorin of Ward 5, Ibadan Southwest Local Government who gallantly lost to our party’s candidate Mr. Gafar Saka with over 200 votes in the just concluded local government election in the state.

APA, through a press release signed and issued on Tuesday by the State Chairman and Secretary, Mr. Tolulope Adedoyin and Mr. Raji Babatunde urged OYSIEC and Governor Abiola Ajimobi to respect the wishes and interests of the voters who came out on Saturday to vote for the APA candidate (their preferred choice), Mr. Gafar Saka and swear him in on the official date picked to swear in the newly elected councilors.

The party however commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the Executive Chairman of OYSIEC, Chief Ajeigbe for conducting, credible, free and fair local government election which saw to the emergence of her candidate, Mr. Gafar Saka as the duly elected Councilor of Ward 5 in Ibadan South West Local Government.
